Take note of the Face of United States Diplomacy: An Aircraft Carrier. Such Naval Vessels are usually part of what is known as a Carrier Group, which entails a whole bunch of other War Ships, and enough firepower to actually destroy small Nations - at least that's the official Word from Washington DC. The United States has deployed a Second Carrier Strike Group to the area of the Strait of Hormuz to send Iran a "Message."
With the United States and European Union thinking about imposing further "Sanctions" against Iran, in the form of an embargo on the purchase of Iranian Oil, it seems that the United States has decided to get even more Geopolitical. If preventing Iran from collecting income from its main, (if not sole), salable resource were not enough, we are threatening to use Military Action against them. All of this on behalf of a Nuclear Weapons Program based on an I.A.E.A. Report that is faulty at best? [Reference my previous Post on the Subject. And yes, I am being vague so that you will be forced to read them all.]
Could there actually be other Geopolitical Reasons why the United States is so anxious to give Iran "Boo Boos"? The Japanese are none too thrilled with the Prospect of an Embargo on the Purchase of Iranian Oil. They rely on it quite extensively. With Japan's Economy injured by a Nuclear Mishap, and a possible slowdown in Oil availability, what does the United States gain?
Could this potential conflict actually make the United States more Economically Competitive with Japan, China, India, and other Economic Giants? We know that invasion by the United States tends to leave Western Corporations in place in the invaded Nations to clean up the damage and chaos created by the Military Actions.
It may be time for American Citizens to start seriously questioning the constant push towards expensive and Geopolitically unpopular Military Conflicts. The United States Government is spending Trillions of Dollars on the Business of making War, and the Social and Financial Returns to the American Voters are negligible.
The parties who are benefiting from the Conflicts are actually quite clear. Record Profits are being seen by Corporations providing Defense Contracting Services, Oil Companies, and oddly enough, Banks. Yes, Banks. Few people realize that when a country is being "Rebuilt," large amounts of money is made available to the Nation in the form of Loans to that Nation to "Rebuild" it. Since the Governments of the destroyed Nations are really in no position to negotiate the terms of the Loan, Banks can often set their own interest rates and terms of repayment. The World Bank, and IMF frequently get involved to make certain that collateral for the Loans is in place, usually in the form of Rights of Ownership of the Nation's Natural Resources . . . oh, and supposedly to protect the Rights of the Nations being "Rebuilt." Yes, of course they are.
Has something clicked for you now? Could it be that such Conflicts have little, if anything, to do with securing "Liberty" and/or "Freedom" for oppressed peoples? Are they about defending the Interests of the Citizens of the Nations involved? Or are they about expanding Corporate Control of Exploitable Resources around the World? Just think about those questions for a while.
Well, there is another Followup during my weekend "Break" from writing for this Blog. I hope my cheery words and happy theories have not encouraged you to be depressed or angry . . . or do I? Peace and Compassion to you.
